Account Manager I - National Programs

The National Programs - Account Manager is responsible for overseeing existing advertising campaigns within an existing partnership and developing a Service Provider’s level of engagement with Angie's List.


  • Meets or exceeds monthly individual sales goals
  • Calls eligible Service Providers within network to promote partnership terms and engagement
  • Sells advertising space online, in print publication, call center, and promotes Storefronts to achieve stated monthly renewal goals
  • Acts as an ambassador and role model for the business
  • Manages sales process, including prospecting, qualifying and positioning of prospects
  • Some travel may be required
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, and/or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of sales experience
  • Tenure within the online advertising industry is strongly preferred
  • Successful track record in sales-driven environments


  • Ability to travel in your regional market and to corporate/training events periodically throughout the year
  • Knowledge of sales best practices and sales metrics required
  • Excellent, effective, and clear communication skills are required (both written and spoken)
  • Strong skills in problem solving and customer service
  • Ability to handle ongoing rejection and persevere
  • Ability to demonstrate a passion for sales/persuasion and solving problems
  • Ability to be versatile, flexible, tolerate stress, and handle multiple projects, changes, and re-prioritizations
  • Ability to work in a metric driven environment and remain goal oriented
  • Skills in complex problem solving, judgment, critical thinking, creative thinking and decision making
  • Strong computer skills are required in MS Office, internet, email, and phone systems
  • Ability to maintain an entrepreneurial state of mind
  • Ability to be highly organized with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to organize information, have attention to detail, accurately follow procedures, maintain confidential information and remember important pieces of information
  • Ability to maintain self motivation and to work independently as well as in team environments
